The purchase of an income-producing property represents an interesting investment when it is well planned. The book "THE PRINCIPLES OF REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT" deals with basic investment elements, finance, value as well as concepts such as the effect of time on the value of money, simple and compound interest, annuities, mortgage payment calculations and performance measures to better understand computerised financial analyses for real estate investment projects. It also introduces the basic concepts of real estate appraisal. All of these concepts are necessary in order to establish a personal investment value (that takes into account a yield considering tax and interest rates) and a market value (that which takes into account how investors react in the market).
